I'm a Woman and Former Democrat. Here's Why I'm Voting Republican.
I'll Keep Voting for the Least Evil Option Until We Have Better Choices
This guy, John Collins, asked “Can someone explain to me why any woman would vote Republican at this point?” I don’t think he really wanted a real answer. Most times, I find that people who say things online don’t really want to have a conversation. They’re not genuinely interested or curious. They just want to use words as cudgels - implements for power and control, not as tools for better understanding one another.
But I decided to answer him anyway, because even if he’s not interested, maybe someone else will see it and it will help them understand.
Here’s why I’m voting Republican in November:
Because I want to vote for the most liberal option. That’s not the illiberal Marxist Democrats, who support censorship, and fascist tactics like having the government direct Big Social corporations on who and what to censor.
Because I oppose racism and sexism, while the Democrats support legalized racist and sexist discrimination in hiring and college admissions. They even proudly announce that they choose their VP running mates snd Supreme Court justices based on sex and race.
Because I love this country, and its values of liberty and individualism and meritocracy and want to see them preserved.
Because I oppose the sterilization and mutilation of children.
Because groceries and gas are so expensive now.
Because the Democrats have failed to secure our borders and have been letting more than 5,000 people illegally enter our country per DAY, placing the burden on poor border towns. Because they dishonestly call anyone who is worried about this a “racist.”
Because the Democrats want to disarm the population, like totalitarians always do.
Because I believe a healthy family is the building block of a healthy society and the Democrat policies are destroying families and worsening our mental health, our wallet, and our values.
Because men aren’t women and do not belong in women’s sports or spaces, and I can’t vote for a party straight out of Orwell’s “1984” who bold-face lies to me about something so ridiculous.
Because the Democrats bold-faced lie to me about Biden’s cognitive impairment.
Because I didn’t support lockdowns or mask or vax mandates, while most Democrats did. They supported the biggest transfer of wealth from the middle class to the corporate elite by forcibly closing small businesses but leaving retail chains open. More fascism. This is also when I learned that they’re not actually pro-choice, like they claim, but just pro-abortion, because they supported coercing people into the vax by threatening their job and ability to travel.
What I don’t understand is why any self-respecting woman would still be voting Democrat in 2024. I gave that up in 2018.
But I decided to answer him anyway, because even if he’s not interested, maybe someone else will see it and it will help them understand.

Something I learned long ago is that when you do these sorts of online 'debates', you aren't really trying to convince the person you're arguing with -- you're trying to convince the people who are reading along.
Excellent.
